PRIEST RIVER — The council approved a resolution accepting the Joslyn property at its Oct. 18 meeting.

Once Joslyn has signed the purchase commission sale agreement then the city will be in full possession of the property, Priest River Mayor Jim Martin said.

At the meeting, the council also heard from the Urban Renewal Agency on creation of more ADA compliant ramps and walkways at city parks and approved joining Idaho Department of Health and Welfare’s low income Home Water Systems Program vendor agreement.

The Urban Renewal Agency is looking into putting in an ADA compliant ramp/walkway at the city park. Money has already gone toward this project and urban renewal along with engineers has estimated that the project will cost just over $78,000.

Staff is looking at finances to continue on this project and is asking the city to prepare the ground for the project.

Martin clarified that the agency is not looking for the city to fund the project, but is asking for labor.

Community Action Partnership in Sandpoint is offering assistance with utility bills for citizens within the Priest River community, said City Clerk Laurel Thomas. They are providing that assistance with the grant from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. In order to receive those funds the city had to enter a vendor agreement with the department.
