Jenny Belle Spurgeon, 85, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in Sandpoint, Idaho.
A celebration in her memory will be held at a later date.
Jenny was born on September 29, 1936, in Missouri to William and Rena Reagan. Her family moved around the country when she was young.
In 1963, she married Vernon Savage and they made their home in Shelton and Port Angeles. They moved to southeastern Alaska in the early 1970s, and Jenny worked as a checker at Sea Mart Grocery Store. Later she cooked on a barge in a logging camp. They also spent 13 years transporting RVs around the country. In 2006 they moved back to Priest River to be closer to family. Vernon died in 2012.
Jenny married Johnny Spurgeon and they lived in Salem, Oregon. They spent many happy years traveling. After Johnny’s death in 2018 she moved to Priest River to be closer to family.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, canning, and spending time with her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters, Lorena Ellenburger of Fairfield, California, Grace (John) Sivertsen of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Marcey (Tim) Savage of Priest River; six grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wayne Savage; and her husband, Johnny Spurgeon.
