Burger Dock gives thanks with community meal
SANDPOINT — Burger Dock is hosting a community meal Tuesday Nov. 23 from 4-6 p.m. to show gratitude to the community.
It is the restaurant’s third year of hosting this event. It is a completely free meal, alcohol excluded, and is a way to bring people together.
Claire Anderson, co-owner with Savannah Pennington, said that Burger Dock originated from a simple purpose, to provide.
To the owners this means that they provide for their people by providing great jobs, through their product by creating a really high quality product with local ingredients, said Anderson.
“And for our place by supporting our local community. Giving thanks is one example of how we commit to our purpose,” said Anderson.
Sandpoint is their home and their roots in the community go back generations, said Anderson, so this event is simply a way to say ‘thank you’ to the town they call home. Anderson said that the Giving Thanks event is particularly meaningful in light of all the challenges that small businesses have faced over the past year-and-a-half.
“We are forever indebted to this community for their support, patience, and love and we are excited to show our gratitude the best way we know how — a fantastic meal with fantastic company,” said Anderson.
Burger Dock will be serving their Harvest Burger, which features a house-pressed patty, rosemary and sage aioli, sharp white cheddar, orange-zest cranberry sauce and spring mix, all on a soft toasted organic bun. There will also be sweet potato fries and pumpkin pie shakes to round out the meal.
Supplies are limited, so the team encourages guests to arrive on the earlier side. Curbside pickup is available as well.
