Coeur d'Alene sweeps SHS volleyball

COEUR d'ALENE — Coeur d'Alene completed a season sweep of Sandpoint volleyball on Thursday night with a three-set victory, 25-14, 25-17, 25-18.

It was Senior Night for the Vikings and head coach Karen Alsager said the Bulldogs had to deal with a rowdy crowd the whole match.

"The thing that probably hurt us the most was Coeur d'Alene served really hard, so it was hard for us to get much of an offense going," she said. "They're the first team this year that gave us that kind of heat on the service line."

Audrey Sheffler had 18 kill assists, Emma Brown tallied 10 digs and Lauren Breuner added eight digs. Tori Pelkey and Vivian Platte each finished with five kills and two blocks.

"Viv had a great night," Alsager said. "She was really stroking the ball hard."

Sandpoint (1-9, 0-4 IEL) has now lost six straight matches. The Bulldogs host Bonners Ferry at 3 p.m. Saturday.
