LPOSD candidates running unopposed voted in by board

PONDERAY — Trustees candidates running unopposed for Lake Pend Oreille School District were voted in by the board and will not be on the November ballot.

At the Sept. 28 LPOSD board of trustee meeting Trustee Lonnie Williams of Zone 3 and Tonya Sherman of Zone 5 having no opponent and having no write-in candidate were unanimously voted onto the school board.

Williams represents Zone 3 which is north of Sandpoint and west of Highway 95. Sherman takes Trustee Cary Kelly’s seat representing downtown Sandpoint. The pair will be sworn in at the Jan, 11, 2022, meeting.

For Zone 2 (south of U.S. 2, west of U.S. 95, south of Sagle) incumbent Gary Suppiger will be running against Jalon Peters.

Suppiger had a press release run in the Daily Bee Sept. 4 and can be found at the BonnerCountyDailyBee.com as “LPOSD trustee Suppiger runs for second term.”

Peters’ press release was printed in the Daily Bee Sept. 29 and can be found online as “Peters running for Zone 2 School Board seat.”
