SANDPOINT — Sandpoint volleyball suffered a three-set loss to Lakeland on Thursday at Les Rogers Court to conclude regular season play.

The Bulldogs lost 25-15, 25-19, 25-16. It was Senior Night for the Bulldogs and the team honored its four varsity seniors — Tori Pelkey, Emma Brown, Saylor Bond and Lauren Breuner.

"Seniors played very well, especially Tori and Emma," head coach Karen Alsager said. "We competed hard on our home court. Lakeland is just five points better than us, basically. Tori had a monster block all by herself that brought the crowd to their feet as she rotated off for the last time."

Audrey Sheffler had 16 assists, Brown 14 digs and two aces, Breuner 12 digs, Pelkey seven kills and four blocks, and Russell two aces.

"We had some great moments for sure," Alsager said.

Alsager said the JV2 team beat the Hawks won and the JV team put forth a stellar effort.

Sandpoint (3-12) finishes 1-7 in Inland Empire League play. The third-seeded Bulldogs head to No. 2 seed Moscow at 6 p.m. Tuesday for the 4A Region 1 loser-out game.
