I ran for school board trustee Zone 5 because I believe that the learning opportunities we have for our children directly impact the vibrancy of our community. I was seeking a creative, proactive, high impact role to be part of the success our community shares.
I worked in Human Resources for over 20 years and was an adjunct professor at Gonzaga University in the School of Business. My husband and I fulfilled our dream of personally building a home over a decade ago in Priest River and then moved into Sandpoint to enjoy a closer proximity to school, Schweitzer, Pine Street Woods and Lake Pend Oreille.
Our school system is a direct reflection of our community and we have many varied belief systems. While we may not always agree on how to do something, we have historically been able to provide our children with access to a safe and supportive place to learn, where they can create and start to achieve their personal dreams. Public education is an option that serves our community. I will endeavor to put my skills, experience, and time to work as a board trustee, championing the vision of the Pend Oreille School district. I believe a successful school board can be measured by student achievement, administrative efficiency, and the financial stability of the district they serve.
I am asking for continued strong public support and parental involvement. We are here because of a love of this place, because we Love our Kids, and we are committed to the success of each child.
