PRIEST RIVER— The city will be adding a new section on utility bills to help ratepayers understand the document.

City Clerk Laurel Thomas said that a condition of refinancing and receiving through Idaho Department of Environmental Quality Priest River was that the city update its utility customer service policy and procedure manual.

Thomas had incorporated and drafted the manual. Council members told Thomas that they thought the section she wrote on “understanding your utility bill” was both informative and insightful.

Councilwoman Candy Turner said that it was easy to understand and that it hits all the boxes.

“I think this is going to be very helpful,” said Mayor Jim Martin.

The new service policy and procedure was unanimously passed by council at the Oct. 18 meeting.
