Clark Fork FOL book sale is a great chance to stock up

Chill winds blow down from the rime-encrusted peaks encircling our little slice of paradise.

The slow creep of Jack Frost’s frigid bite slithers along the rocky crags, shifting to a gradual drip of cold water down the back of a camouflaged hunter’s neck. The ground has shifted from a deep green to a thick mat of yellow, red and brown as the jagged fingers of bare trees scratch at the sky.

Seems like a pretty good time to curl up with a nice book and a cup of peppermint tea, right?

Maybe your schedule is looking pretty packed over the next several weeks, making you reconsider a check out of the new James Patterson novel — why bother checking it out if you know you won’t have time to read it?

Luckily for you, the Clark Fork Friends of the Library are holding a book sale the next two days! Enjoy one of the most pulchritudinous drives in the entire country before all of the leaves fall from the trees, as Highway 200 guides you between the gorgeous lake on one side and a tapestry of yellows, golds, oranges and reds on the other. Make a day of it and visit any of the wonderful eateries in the town of Clark Fork after you’ve checked out the book sale. Every dollar made at the book sale helps the library expand its collections, while releasing some donated and previously-loved titles from the collection to you for a great price.

Over the next two days, the Clark Fork Friends of the Library are selling dollar bags, allowing you to fill up a plastic bag with books for just one dollar. If a bag isn’t enough, you can take a full box for a measly five bucks. These books are yours to keep, so you don’t need to worry about being late in returning them or even spilling your peppermint tea on the pages. Some of these books are even out of print and may be next to impossible to find.

If you’re looking for a killer drive before the snow sets in, some tasty food, and some books you can enjoy forever, head out to the Clark Fork Library today or tomorrow. And don’t forget to look into the Autumn Reading Program while you’re there!
