Mr. Jalon Peters is wrong for LPOSD
Mr. Jalon Peters is a candidate for LPOSD Zone 2. Mr. Peters proposes to eliminate the free or reduced-price nutrition program and kindergarten.
The district lunch program is funded with federal monies. Those monies can’t be reallocated to other programs.
Mr. Peters proposes the elimination of kindergarten. A quick Google search of benefits of kindergarten will provide readers with a long list.
In the most recent debate, Mr. Peters proposed hiring “real” tradespersons to teach things like carpentry, etc. appears to lack an understanding of Idaho state school accreditation requirements. Teachers must possess state certification in order for the district to obtain state dollars. Teacher training is rigorous and needed to ensure those that teach are capable.
Instead of educating himself about the district budget, state requirements and talking to administrators, teachers, Mr. Peters chooses to hurl accusations at Mr. Suppiger.
In the last debate, Mr. Suppiger showed himself to be very knowledgeable about district operations and requirements. In addition, his three kids all attended LPOSD. He runs a successful business putting people to work in our county.
A vote for Gary Suppiger is a vote for a fiscal conservative, who knows our community, our schools, and has the best interest of kids in mind at all times.
