Omodt is a perfect fit for city's needs
This is my second and last allowed letter for October. Main message: Vote now or on Nov. 2 but vote.
If I don’t vote, I’m letting everyone else make important decisions that affect me.
This includes who will represent me on council for the next four year. Perhaps more importantly is a decision on the proposed 1% seven-year local option tax to further beautify and polish up our parks.
Our parks are great — thanks to a dedicated crew and the foresight of many previous administrations. What does need some spit and polish are our streets. Try this. Drive all the streets in town, north/south and east/west and list all the streets that could use some attention. Actually, it would be easier to list those that don’t need attention. Let’s spend that $12 million on our streets — something every citizen uses.
And when voting for new council members, remember this is not a popularity contest. We have an opportunity to select people who demonstrate a genuine interest in representing the best interest of all of Sandpoint’s residents, not bowing to special interests.
For my money, we need a significant change. Luke Omodt is a perfect fit for what Sandpoint needs. I hope you will join me in voting for Luke Omodt for city council.
