Helen Marion Loewen
Helen Marion Loewen passed away on August 10, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Bernhard Loewen; and her two children, Timothy John Loewen and Bonnie Lynn Loewen Fuller; and five grandchildren, Amanda, Trisha, Jerime, Kari and Bryce; nine great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sara Loewen of Yarrow, British Columbia; her eight brothers and sisters, Sonja, John, Herman, and Margaret, (twins), Herman, Jack, Betty, and Anne; and her granddaughter, Sara Ann Elizabeth.
Helen, a Canadian Mennonite, was born in Steinbeck, Manitoba, Canada, on October 23, 1930. Helen met her husband Ben, in Kamloops, British Columbia, in 1956 at a tomato cannery and she was happily married for 64 years. She emigrated, with her husband and children from British Columbia, Canada, to Seattle in 1969, moved to the Tri-Cities in 1978, and finally to Sandpoint to be near her daughter in 1998.
Helen was a woman of strong faith and a member of Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sandpoint.
Helen’s large, and extended, family was of great importance to her. She loved to write letters and send cards to all her family and friends. She kept every single piece of correspondence that was ever mailed, or given, to her. A bright light of love was lost and will be greatly missed by one and all. Bye Mum, love you.
Funeral services will be conducted at Coffelt’s Chapel at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021. A reception, and light lunch, will follow at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on Pine Street after the service.
Family and friends are invited to sign the online guestbook, for Helen, at coffeltfuneral.com.
