Arthur Lee Webb, 81
Arthur Lee Webb, 81, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at the Cocolalla Cowboy Church with Pastor Steve Bradshaw officiating.
Art was born on September 28, 1939, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Vernon and Bessie Webb. He attended Sandpoint High School where he excelled in basketball. He was a legend in the class of 1958 for spinning a wheelie on the new lawn, in fact, the ruts were still visible in the lawn when Berniece went there. After high school, Art served his country in the United States Navy.
Art married Berniece Bennett on May 23, 1965. They had two sons, Bradley and Boyd. They were divorced in 1970 and Art married Joyce Hoffine Mostack. They had a beautiful daughter Vicki. Art adopted Joyce’s children, Kimmy and Jimmy. They were divorced and he remarried Berniece in 1980.
He logged his whole life including operating the first self-loader at Pack River Lumber Co., “Old Yeller.” He hauled his last loads this summer for John Rogers. Art lived to fish and won several awards in fishing derbies. He loved hunting and running around the high drive. He would find huckleberries while hauling logs and take Berniece and the boys to pick them. He loved riding snowmobiles and racing stock cars. He also coached youth baseball. His only wish was to catch one more fish and haul one more load of logs, and he got to do that this summer. His last day out on the lake with his son Brad was a great fish day, and they brought home a mess of kokanee for dinner.
He was a member of Cocolalla Cowboy Church. His love for Jesus got him through the hard times the last few years. He swore he met God just before he passed and God sent him back for a little while. He said Heaven was the most beautiful place he’d ever seen. He loved watching “Heartland” every afternoon on the BYU channel.
He is survived by his wife, Berniece Webb of Sandpoint; five children, Brad Webb of Sandpoint, Boyd Webb of Boise, Vicki (Matt) Lowell of Hayden, Jimmy (Val) Webb of Sagle, and Kim (Bob) Carstensen of Boise; and four grandchildren, Cody, Shawnee, Morgan, and Alex.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernon Webb.
