A vote for Woodward is a vote for our kids

| April 26, 2022 1:00 AM

There has never been a more important time to pay attention to the local candidates and to vote for the future of Idaho education and public schools.

North Idaho College is a perfect example of what can happen when people do not vote.  NIC is on the verge of losing its accreditation due to the decision-making of the current board president and some board members.  There is a false belief by the board president that he is fighting the “deep state” and that NIC has shifted to the “far left”.  As a graduate of NIC nursing program I strongly disagree with that statement and belief.  I see NIC as a valuable facility that allows Idaho locals a quality education and an opportunity for career choices that they might not otherwise have at a reasonable cost. Thanks to NIC I have been an RN since 2009, and have spent my career working in Sandpoint.

The Idaho Freedom Foundation and the Idaho Freedom Action are backing local candidates that want to destroy NIC and dissolve public education.  It is time that we fight back and vote for what is important for our community!  As a mother of 2 children enrolled in Idaho public schools and as a graduate of CDA high school, I can find nothing more important than the educational future for our local kids.

Be sure to know who you are voting for in the primaries and pick the candidate that puts your community first!  Find the candidates that support public schools and are running to protect our community and not running to further their own political agenda.

Jim Woodward has proven over the last few years that he is in Boise fighting for the future of our children and public schools and Universities.  He puts our community first and knows what's best for Bonner County. This is why my vote is going to Jim Woodward.
