Don't let the loud minority vote for you

| April 28, 2022 1:00 AM

In Heather Scott’s April 15th newsletter, she claims, ”Democrats register as Republicans in huge numbers to be able to cross over party lines.”

When I checked with the Bonner County elections office this morning, I found that there were actually more registered Democrats now than there were a year ago — 3,267 on Jan. 1, 2021, and 3,284 as of March 12, 2022.

There are not “huge numbers” of Democrats crossing over to vote in the Republican primary. And even if there were, there just aren’t enough Democrats to swing the Republican primary. Not with 19,320 registered Republicans in Bonner County.

You know who could swing the Republican primary? Republicans who care about public education. Republicans who want better jobs and a stronger economy. Republicans who want to get our potholes fixed.

If enough registered Republicans vote in this primary, we will be able to elect quality candidates. Don’t let the loud minority vote for you this time. The stakes are just too high.
