Aug. 7, 1972 – ROBINSON FAMILY REUNION
Lt. and Mrs. Philip Robinson and daughter, Amy, of Corpus Christi, Tex., have been visiting the past week with his parents, the Dan Robinsons, of Dufort Rd. Lt. Robinson is an attorney with the U.S. Navy. Also enjoying the family reunion are Capt. and Mrs. Dan Robinson and children of Missoula, Mont., where he is an instructor at the University of Montana with the U.S. Air Force ROTC program. Anita Robinson, who recently completed two years of medical school at the University of South Dakota, is spending her summer at home before entering Southwestern University, Dallas, Tex., where she will complete her medical training.

GEORGE THORNTON WITH STATE POLICE
George Thornton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thornton of Clark Fork graduated from the Idaho Peace Officers Academy Basic Recruit School in Pocatello on July 7. His wife and daughters, Rachel and Sarah, joined him for graduation and are now in Kimberly, Idaho. On July 24, Officer Thornton was one of the 26 Idaho State Policemen who received a new police car during a ceremony at the statehouse in Boise.

VISITING NEUMANN HOME
Houseguests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Neumann since July 16 have been Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jelinek of Chicago. The Neumanns took their uncle and aunt to most of the area’s scenic spots and to Grand Coulee Dam in Washington. The Jelineks have visited the Neumanns here on other occasions and think the country is great, said Mrs. Jelinek.

Aug. 7, 1922 – ENTERTAINS CLASS
Miss Blanche Billmeyer last Wednesday entertained the boys of her Sunday school class of the Methodist church at a party at the municipal beach. Swimming was the first event, followed by games, a session of baseball and a campfire. Wieners, pink lemonade, cake and doughnuts were served. The Misses Pearl Le Huquet and Jennie Reed assisted Miss Billmeyer.

READ IT IN THE REVIEW FIRST
If you want to read it, read it in the Pend d’Oreille Review first. Two weeks ago the Review quoted John Humbird on the lumber market and quoted from a lumber association’s bulletin. Last week the Newport Miner wrote a local lead and conclusion and reprinted the Review’s dope. This week it appeared in the Northern Idaho News, credited to the Newport Miner.

WILL PICNIC AT BEACH
The Methodist Sunday school will have its second annual picnic August 9 at the Tourist park beach. All are welcome. There will be games and races for the children in the afternoon, swimming for those who care to swim, and supper at 5:30 p.m. for everyone. “Bring your friends and a basket of lunch, and come prepared to enjoy the occasion,” says the committee in charge.
