TOURISTS VICTIMIZED

It has been reported to the chamber of commerce that tourists along the line have been kicking because they have been charged a fee of 50 cents for use of the tourist parks here. Chamber secretary Hagie said that the parks here are free to everybody, and if anyone has been collecting at the parks, the work has been done by crooks. The chamber will investigate at once and put a stop to such grafting practices.

HOPE HAS BAD FIRE ON MAIN STREET

Between midnight and dawn Monday a disastrous fire of unknown origin swept the east end of Hope’s Main street, threatening the entire business section. Buildings consumed were the old John Dooley building; the city hall with all records; the John Tipton building; Congregation church building; the hotel garage and warehouse. The flames were halted by the high stone wall of the Jeannot building, the metallic roof saving the interior from total destruction.
