Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Sandpoint Assembly of God Church with Pastor Tim Yetter officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Joyce was born on January 16, 1948, in Silverton, Idaho, to Kathleen Bailey. In 1952, she and her mother moved to Sandpoint, Idaho. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1966. In October 1965, Joy married David Ross. They moved to Seattle and started a family. In 1980, they moved to Spokane where Joyce worked for J.C. Penny’s. Joy and children moved back to Sandpoint in 1982. Joy decided spending time with her children was more important than a career. David and Joy later divorced. In 1988, Joy meet Charles (Bud) Sinclair and they were married on April 14, 1989. They were together until Bud passed away in 2021. Joy and Bud’s love of God was one of the biggest things that drew them together. Jesse Martin came to live with Bud and Joy and family in 1993. Joy was “Momma Joy” to Jesse for the rest of her life and she cared for him like a son for over 29 years.

Joy is a member of the Sandpoint Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, praying for others, helping at church and spending time with her family. The number one interest and priority of her life was following Jesus. If you would see Joy at the grocery store and told her, you were not feeling well or struggling with something Joy would be ready to pray for you right then and there. Joy’s second priority was raising her children and caring for Bud and Jesse. Joy would consider her greatest accomplishment was following Jesus for nearly all her life. She had many good and faithful friends, Vera Yetter, Pamela Martling, Cristeena Lopez, Jaynee Wise, Patty Bottoms, and many other special sisters in the Lord.

She is survived by son, John (Misty) Ross of Reno, Nev.; daughter, Jodae (Al) Ribeiro of Sandpoint; and son, Jeremy (Sarah) Ross of Tacoma, Wash.; six grandchildren and one sister Susan Brown of Ponderay, Idaho; and sisters-inlaw, Diane Lynch of Sandpoint, and Karyn Ross of Tucson, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kay Dreier, and stepfather Barney Dreier; husband, Bud Sinclair; a son, Michael Ross; two sisters, Rita Rogers and Marlene Stover; and her mother-in-law, Ruth Ross, whom she would lovingly consider Mom.
