SANDPOINT — If you are a nonprofit or educational organization, the Angels Over Sandpoint want to hear from you.

The local group is offering grants that range from $250 to $2,500.

Continuing the organization's mission of upholding the memory of the original “angel” Kathy Pelland, by aiding families, organizations and individuals in the Bonner County area, Angels Over Sandpoint is now accepting community grant applications.

Community donations enable Angels Over Sandpoint to continue its grant program for the month of September. Open until Sept. 5, Caroline Sorentino, AOS vice president, said the group will be accepting grant requests from eligible charitable and educational organizations in Bonner County whose services benefit Bonner County residents. Applications are open until Sept. 15.

Applications can be found on the Angels Over Sandpoint website; https://bit.ly/3CiIW21, where instructions and a complete description of the grants can also be found. Organizations eligible to apply must meet one of the following criteria; an organization holding a current tax-exempt status per Internal Revenue Service regulations code; a recognized government entity: state, county or city agency including law enforcement or fire departments, that are requesting funds exclusively for charitable purposes; a pre-kindergarten through to 12th grade in public or private school, charter school, community/junior college, state/private college, or university; a church or other faith-based organization with a proposed project that benefits the community at large, children and/or youth program.

“The Angels Over Sandpoint looks forward to your wonderful ideas on how to enhance the life of our children, seniors, veterans and all Bonner County citizens. Each request will get careful consideration,” Sorentino said.
