Sue was born October 25, 1943, in Hollywood, California, to John and Lillian Power. She grew up and attended schools in the San Fernando Valley. On July 2, 1960, Sue married Michael Erne and moved to Simi Valley. In 1968 they moved to San Diego where she raised a family, became an ironworker and owned a western feed store. In 1971, they divorced.

Sue then married Jack Bourguignon in 1976. They moved to Careywood in 1987. In 1997 Jack passed away.

Sue then met and spent the next 25 years with Bud Murr. During these years she was active in the recovery community. She was also known as the “Jerky Lady” and had an orange van and trailer called the Jerky Shack on Highway 95.

Sue enjoyed being with people and helping out her community. Every Thanksgiving, she prepared meals for the Athol Community Center. Her hobbies included raising her own meat and growing her own vegetables, painting, fishing, and traveling. She enjoyed trips to Hawaii and to the Calgary Stampede Rodeo. She was a great cook and baker.
