CITY BREVITIES

The huckleberry harvest in the country surrounding Bonners Ferry has reached such proportions that hundreds of dollars worth of berries are shipped daily.

For some reason, red squirrels are coming down out of the mountains and becoming a serious menace to orchards and agricultural crops, cutting apples from trees and carting them away. Within a few days, T.D. Hussey of Clarksfork, whose orchard they attacked, killed 113. Many others are also killing large numbers.

Robert Ellersick, who ran the Laclede boarding house which was dynamited to check the spread of the fire last week, has moved to Talache to take over management of the Talache Mine boarding house.
