VIDEO: More scattered thunderstorms Thursday
Since Monday, scattered thunderstorms have peppered in Inland Northwest and the same weather system - a cut off low pressure - is still moving through the Inland Northwest today.
A few isolated showers and thunderstorms have already developed during the early morning hours around Spokane Valley and Sandpoint. But like Wednesday, the morning action will be tame compared to the afternoon thunderstorms forecast to develop after approximately 3 p.m. Unlike Wednesday, today's thunderstorms are not expected to be severe or cause flooding, but heavy rain and lightning will, of course, be present.
The low pressure area finally clears the region by Friday. Temperatures will be be a little hot, in the low 90s for Spokane. But will be way cooler and more comfortable over the weekend. Highs will be low 80s for Spokane and in the upper 70s for some!
The cooler temperatures won't last long though, hotter weather will return next week with highs back up into the 90s.
