Kaniksu plans 4 projects

In addition to the Bead Lake-Bear Paw road to be provided for from forest road emergency funds, there will be three other projects undertaken within the Kaniksu National Forest. Emergency landing fields will be established on the summit of Mount Baldy east of Usk and the other on Hughes meadows on Upper Priest Lake. Also, dredging about a half mile of shallow water in the Thoroughfare connecting Upper Priest Lake with the main lake will be undertaken to make possible navigation by larger launches to carry forest fire forces and supplies.

Teachers selected

A full corps of six teachers has been selected for the coming term, which starts Sept. 5 for Independent District No. 13 (Priest River), with Prof F. C. Smith, A. B., Iowa State University, as principal, well recommended by the school at Hope, Idaho.
