Bulldogs shake off first game jitters
Although trailing most of the way, the Bulldogs kept the game close until the final minutes in a 62-42 loss at West Valley.
“We got pretty good looks at the basket, we just didn't get them in,” coach Brian Childs said.
Parker Childs and Evan Dickinson knocked down a couple shots in the first quarter and cut the lead down to 14-10.
“Collectively we played hard but we just had a hard time scoring tonight,” Childs said.
At halftime, Sandpoint was down 30-20.
The Bulldogs switched up their defense against the Eagles and had a few stretches of success. Offensively, Sandpoint was 4 for 18 from the 3-point line and missed about a dozen layups at the rim.
“I’m not disappointed in our effort at all,” Childs said. “We just didn't shoot well.”
The Bulldogs play again this afternoon at home against East Valley at 3 p.m.
