Terrylea Hopkins, 74, passed away Nov. 23, 2022, in Sagle after a long battle with cancer and dementia. Her husband, daughter, grandchildren and great-grandson were with her when she passed.

Terry was born in Rock Rapids, Iowa, on Jan. 27, 1948, and lived with her parents at several Air Force bases around the U.S. After graduation from high school, she and Jim were married in 1968 and recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Terry worked as a mortgage banker for 30 years, and when Jim retired, they moved to Sagle in 2002.

Terry loved quilting, gardening and art and excelled in her hobbies. She was instrumental in introducing several friends to the joys of quilting. She loved Idaho, had many friends and was a kind and thoughtful person. Terry will be missed by all.

She was extremely proud of her family and doted on her daughter and grandchildren and supported her husband’s 30-year career in law enforcement.

Terry was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Haynes, KIA in Vietnam in 1965; and her mother, Maxine Haynes. She is survived by her husband, Jim Hopkins, Sagle; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Jamie Preston of El Dorado, Calif.; grandson Cameron Cabico and his wife, Katlyn, and great-grandson Jaxon of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; granddaughter Madison Cabico of El Dorado, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Donna Haynes of Florida; and sister and brother-in-law Toni and Bob Scheu of El Dorado, Calif.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude’s or Better Together Animal Alliance in Ponderay, Idaho, would be appreciated.

Family and friends are invited to sign Terry’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
