Basketball School of Sandpoint hosts Christmas camp
Father-son duo, Darren Laiche and Austin have been running the Basketball School of Sandpoint for the past five years with the goal of helping the surrounding area's youth develop skills and confidence.
For the first time ever they’ll be hosting a Christmas basketball camp Dec. 27-30 at Kootenai Elementary.
“This will be a great week of basketball for the young people of Sandpoint and a much-needed break for the parents!” Laiche said.
The Christmas camp run over the course of four days and be separated by age group. Boys and girls aged 7-10 will be from 8:00-11:00 a.m. and boys and girls aged 11-16 will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“Campers will be grouped based on ability and will be taught fundamentals,” Laiche said. “This includes ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding and defense daily.”
The camp will also include creative games, competitions, races and tournaments for all attendees to enjoy and help develop their skills.
Pricing for the camp is as follows: $90 for one player, $170 for two siblings, or $250 for three siblings.
All players will receive a Basketball School of Sandpoint Christmas gift and will walk away from the camp with knowledge about teamwork, sportsmanship, and accomplishing goals through hard work. There will even be camp champ trophies earned and given out on the final day.
“With that being said, the #1 goal of these camps is for each player to have a ton of FUN!” Laiche said.
