Dec. 27, 1972 – SYTH ASSIGNED

Airman Stanley W. Syth, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy D. Syth of Sandpoint, is assigned to the Technical Training Center at Shepard AFB, Tex., for training in the civil engineering mechanical and electrical field. Syth is a 1971 SHS graduate.

MILLER WINS TOP SHOOTING TROPHY

At the opening match of the Tri State Rifle League at the Sandpoint Rifle Club range on Lake Street, the president of the Idaho Rifle & Pistol Assn. presented Mrs. Harold (Martha) Miller with the State Gallery Rifle Ladies Championship trophy. The trophy was placed in statewide competition in 1956 and Mrs. Miller has won it 10 times since then. The trophy is the highest state honor in the indoor 22 caliber competition.

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN INSTALL

Pastor Jim Scott installed officers of the Presbyterian Women’s Association at their Christmas luncheon. Serving as a council of three for president are Mrs. Marjorie Kalb, Mrs. Don Dundon and Mrs. K.O. Scott. Vice president is Mrs. Lois Horsell; secretary, Mrs. Earl Steward; treasurer, Mrs. Duane Hadley; fair chairman, Mrs. H.W. Ebbett; ways and means chairmen Mrs. Joe Ross and Mrs. F.L. Holbert; co-ordinator for studies, Mrs. Robert Melton; co-ordinator for involvement and action, Mrs. Jack Murray; co-ordinator for missions, Mrs. Gertrude Racicot; telephone chairman, Mrs. Helen Durkee, assisted by Martha Circle members.

Dec. 27, 1922 – SOCIAL AFFAIRS

Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Taylor entertained at a Christmas breakfast with twenty-two guests. A jolly time was had by all. Waffles and country sausage formed the main part of the daintily served menu.

Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Hornby held their annual Christmas dinner at their Dover home, with thirteen guests. After the dinner the guests assembled about the Christmas tree, from which each received a gift.

Sixteen guests enjoyed Christmas dinner and an evening of bridge at the Len Ulrich home.

Mr. and Mrs. Chris Larson gave a big family dinner on Christmas day.
