Timberlake routs Priest River in opening round of districts

SPIRIT LAKE — Priest River (3-13) had a tough outing against number seeded Timberlake (15-5) in the opening round of the Class 3A District 1 tournament.
The Spartans fell 68-8 against the Tigers.
Priest River scored five points in the first quarter which would prove to be its highest scoring quarter of the game. The Tigers shut out the Spartans 24-0 in the third.
Jenna Chase paced Timberlake with 16 points and McKennah Kronenberg added 13, all of which came in the first quarter.
Lilly Freitas led Priest River with five points.
Kellogg beat third-seeded Bonners Ferry 60-49 Saturday which sets up a loser-out game between Bonners Ferry (9-11) and Priest River on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
