James Anthony (Jim) McDonough

James Anthony (Jim) McDonough passed away on February 1, 2022 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Jim was born on November 21, 1951, in Los Angeles, California , the youngest of four children to Thomas and Cecelia McDonough. Jim was raised in Reseda, California and graduated from Crespi High School in 1969 and Pierce College, with a degree in journalism. He was an accomplished swimmer as a child and an avid photographer as a young adult. Jim served six years in the California National Guard.

In 1989, Jim moved to Sagle, Idaho, where he worked as a journeyman electrician and then started McDonough Electric, Inc., where he worked on many fine homes and commercial projects.

In 1998, Jim and Diana married and, in 2006, they moved to Cocolalla, Idaho, where they built their new home.

In April of 2010, Jim had a devastating accident causing a spinal cord injury and ending his career. In 2019, Jim and Diana built and moved into their new home in Hauser, Idaho.

Throughout Jim’s life he was known for the smile on his face, his willingness to help anyone, and his positive outlook on life.

Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick (Sue); and his parents. Jim is survived by his wife, Diana; his sister, Susan (George); and his sister, Sharon (George); as well as nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished lifelong friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
