CF advances to play-in game
COEUR D’ALENE - Clark fork sophomore Lilly Reuter has made ten 3s in the last two games.
She made seven 3-pointers on Tuesday in its 51-30 1A DII District 1 championship victory against Kootenai (1-10, 0-3) at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene.
“Everybody got points and everybody got in,” Clark Fork girls basketball coach Jordan Adams said. “Our offense was firing on all cylinders tonight.”
The first quarter started off a bit slow according to Adams. She said it was “a bit difficult playing in a big quiet space,” in reference to the Christianson Gymnasium at North Idaho College.
After the first quarter the Wampus Cats (4-10, 3-0) began to settle in. They went into the locker room with a 24-15 lead.
Clark Fork’s Hannah Thompson was also in double-figures with 12 points
Abby Tiller paced Kootenai with 14.
After the game, the all-North Star league team and league MVP were announced. Katelyn Matteson received MVP honors.
She finished with five points, seven steals, and three assists.
“She sacrificed being a guard this year because we didn’t have a whole lot of post players,” Adams said. “She’s sacrificed a lot this year and now she’s really benefiting from those sacrifices.”
Grace Yancey and Thompson were also selected to the all-league team.
Clark Fork will play the loser of the 1A DII district 2 championship game between Kendrick and Deary in a state play-in game at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Post Falls high school.
