Winter Carnival events this weekend

SANDPOINT — Tonight’s Weird Wonderful Winter Parade of Lights kicks off the two-week-long 49th Winter Carnival.

The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. at the city parking lot with an awards ceremony following for the parade participants. Award categories are best in theme, most creative and best overall. Winners will receive plaques to commemorate their Weird Wonderful victory.

An after party is scheduled post-parade on Third Avenue featuring the Gypsy Divas, belly dancers, fire twirlers and Sandpoint DJ. There will be toasty bonfires to cozy up to with desserts, soup and s’mores.

At 7 p.m., Scott Pemberton O Theory will be performing at the Panida; from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Josh Firshi will be performing at Eichardt’s; and at MickDuff’s Benny Baker, Ali Thomas and Sheldon Packwood will perform from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. is the Virtual Heart Ball for Bonner General Health.

There will be more live music at Eichardt’s, 219 and MickDuff’s for the adults. For kids and family there is Kids Night Out at Schweitzer from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 13 is packed with family friendly activities with the village campfire and treat roasting at Schweitzer from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
