MOSCOW — The Sandpoint High School Dance Team claimed grand champion honors at the recent Jan. 15 competition, and also took first in prop and hip hop team dances.

Amanda Steiner took first place for solo and Madison Coon took second. For duos dances, the Bulldogs took first with Haleigh Knowles and Mikah Little, and second with Kaylee Bennet and Riley Adam.

Serena Berheisel took first place and received the first awarded Mrs. Vandals Spirit Award. The award follows Berheisel winning first place at the Post Falls competition.

The team also received most memorable dance for prop and Steiner received most memorable solo.

Head coach Sara Garrison said that the team had lots of struggles before the competition from having to change the music in a dance and having another team member not available due to the school play.
