| July 1, 2022 1:00 AM

“Lake Pend Oreille lost a humble fisherman” (stated on Facebook fishing club post - Staci Johnson)

Scott Allen Neer, 53, passed away from health complications while on a job site on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

From Sandpoint, Idaho, Scott was the owner of Scott Neer Tree Service, where he faithfully served his community.

Scott is survived by his wife, Renee; his two boys, Jordan (Liz) and Cory; his stepchildren, Christian, Ashley, Erin, Brittany, and Josh. His grandchildren include Jaxon, Kai, Charley, Scout, Ace, and Stephi. Scott was a great dad and he loved his family. Scott’s parents are Richard (Dick) and Edna Neer. His siblings include Heather Fournier (Casey), Robyn Standish (Pete), Jennifer Clary (TJ), and Amanda Tuinstra (Joe). Scott was a great man and will always be missed.

Whenever Scott Neer is brought up in conversation, one can’t help but see his handsome smile. He was a man of many words where everyone enjoyed his company. Scott was an entrepreneur in everything he did. Scott cared about everyone around him and he was well known in the Bonner County community.

Scott was an active member in many outdoor clubs. He was an avid fisherman and he rarely held back when it came to protecting/managing our fishery. If there was ever a fishing derby, club meeting, or fundraiser you better believe Scott Neer was going to be there. Scott loved hunting and either led or participated in many traditional archery shoots.

To honor Scott, there will be a celebration of life open to the public, held at Garfield Bay Park on July 15 at 11 a.m. Please bring a side dish for the potluck if you would like and a chair to sit on. The family would love to see you there!
