ISP investigating fatal crash

Idaho State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday evening, June 30, near Priest River.

The driver, a 62-year-old male, was westbound on Freeman Lake Road in a Yamaha side-by-side when the crash occurred. The man left the roadway, lost control, and was ejected from the side-by-side, ISP said in a press release. The Yamaha was driven by a 63-year-old male driver from Priest River, Idaho.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash, according to a press release.

Idaho State Police are working with the Bonner County Coroner on notification of next of kin.

Evidence was found on scene to indicate that drugs and/or alcohol may have been involved in this crash. That evidence is part of the ongoing investigation.

Traffic was slowed on the roadway throughout the investigation.

The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
