July 10, 1922 – BEACH OPENS
The bathhouses at the municipal bathing beach are opened to the public. Although very little of the beach is uncovered as yet, another week will see the water receding enough to inaugurate the beach season. He has also mounted a diving board upon a float, which is anchored in fairly deep water out from the beach.

PUGH SELLS
The new Moon & Dale funeral firm has closed a deal to purchase the undertaking business of B.W. Pugh (SE corner, 3rd and Alder). This was the pioneer undertaking location, first made by H.E. Hunt nearly 20 years ago. Mr. Hunt sold to E.M. Brower, who ran the business until selling to B.W. Pugh two years ago. L.G. Moon and Arbie Dale organized their firm two months ago, using the Moon residence on Lake street. They now succeed to the established parlors on Third.

LOOKOUT AT SCOUT CAMP
The Pend d’Oreille and Kaniksu forests are installing a forest service lookout station at Scout point, half way up the side of the mountain west of the Boy Scout camp at Garfield bay. The station will become a part of the forest service’s fire protection organization, to be operated by the Boy Scouts. The station was put in partly for protection and partly for educational work at the scout camp. The lookout will cover a large amount of lake territory which can not be “spotted” from any other lookout points maintained by the forest service.
