Lakers score 70 runs over the weekend
The NI Lakers 16U legion baseball team had no problem scoring runs this past weekend July 9-10.
In its two doubleheaders against Shadle Park and Gonzaga Prep the Lakers combined for 70 runs.
On Saturday, the Lakers thumped Gonzaga Prep 12-2, 20-1 in their doubleheader.
In the opener, Dallen Williams got the start on the mound; he pitched four and one third inning, giving up just two runs on three hits, striking out seven batters.
Sage Medeirors pitched the final two thirds of the game and gave up no runs on no hits and struck out one batter.
The Lakers tallied seven hits during the opener, with Mason Little leading the way going 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double.
During the nightcap, the Lakers more than doubled their hit total, tallying 20 hits as a unit.
Jake Hansen was 1-for-4 at the plate, notching a home run during the bottom of the third inning to score Little and Blake Atterberry.
Williams finished the second game 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple. Parker Reichart also finished 2-for-4, with two singles.
During its game with Shadle Park on Sunday, the Lakers won 24-3, 14-2.
It notched over 20 hits in the opener against Shadle Park, coming away with 24 knocks throughout the contest.
Everyone in the Lakers lineup got a hit during game one, with Gavin Day going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
Little and Reichart split time on the mound. They only give up three hits throughout the game, striking out nine batters.
During the nightcap, the Lakers notched 11 hits, its third time in four games managing to reach double digit hits as a team.
Jorden Tyler led at the dish going 3-for-4 with three RBI along with a double and a triple.
Sanroman and Mediros spent time on the hill for the Lakers, combining for a one-hitter and eight strikeouts.
