Man killed in golf cart crash
A Spokane man died as the result of injuries after a golf cart he was riding in rolled over while traveling down a Priest Lake area road.
Idaho State Police said the single-vehicle crash occurred at about 9 p.m. Friday on West Lakeshore Road in the Priest Lake area.
ISP officials said the driver of a golf cart, which was occupied by five adults, lost control of the vehicle while traveling southbound on West Lakeshore Road, causing it to roll over. Four occupants were transported by ground ambulance to the hospital, and one occupant was pronounced deceased on scene.
The golf cart was occupied by a 57-year-old female driver, a 45-year-old male passenger, a 56-year-old male passenger, and a 52-year-old female passenger, all from the Spokane area, ISP officials said in a press release.
The driver and three passengers were transported to the hospital via ground ambulance. A 52-year old male passenger, also from the Spokane area, was pronounced deceased on scene.
Traffic on West Lakeshore Road was blocked in both directions for approximately three hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.
Next of kin have been notified.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
