Robin Wayne Lowery, 73

| July 22, 2022 1:00 AM

Robin Wayne Lowery, 73, passed away peacefully at home in Sagle, Idaho, on Thursday, July 14, 2022.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at New Song Bible Church with Pastor Barry Johnson officiating.

Robin was born on January 16, 1949 in Walla Walla, Wash., to Richard and Lola Lowery. He graduated high school in Fresno, California, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management in 1991 from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.

Robin married Mavis Oyer on February 14, 1975, in Cleveland, Ohio. They lived in Rockwell City, Iowa, and Hesston, Kansas, before moving to Wamego, Kansas, in 1987. In Wamego, he worked as the administrator for the Good Samaritan Society Valley Vista nursing home before moving to Three Rivers home health. He also turned his love of photography into a business called MARAMAJ Photography.

In 1998, Robin and Mavis moved to Sagle, where Robin worked for Lake Pend Oreille School District in their warehouse until he retired.

He was an elder and member of New Song Bible Church, was an Idaho master forest steward, and volunteered at youth forestry competitions and with the Good News Club at Southside Elementary in Cocolalla. He was a gifted wood worker and photographer, and enjoyed ham radio, playing games with his family, and the outdoors, including hiking, fishing, and snowshoeing.

Robin’s faith in Jesus impacted his entire life, and he demonstrated Christ’s love to everyone he met. He had a unique sense of humor, combining good old-fashioned dad jokes with out-of-the-blue phrases or requests, like for the “Tuesday after three o’clock discount.” Robin loved sharing the outdoors with his family and friends. His grandkids enjoyed going with him on ATV rides and hiking up the mountain to pick huckleberries.

He is survived by his wife, Mavis Lowery, of Sagle; daughter, Mindy (Jeff) Isom, of Boring, Oregon; son, Jamie (Trish) Lowery, of Richmond, Texas; eight grandchildren, Benjamin, Kyle, Owen, Elise, Gabriel, and Ella Isom, and Gisele and Miles Lowery; and one sister, Patti Lowery, of Shoreline, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Michael Lowery; and two sisters, Nanette Neff and Deborah DeSaulniers.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Robin by sending donations to Life Choices Pregnancy Center in Sandpoint, Idaho, or to The Luke Commission.
