Pair injured in Priest River crash
Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday just outside Priest River.
The crash, which happened about 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Eastside Road, is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
ISP officials said a black Jeep CJ7 was attempting to turn left onto Eastside Road when it was struck by a white Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by a 31-year-old male from Priest River. The Jeep was being driven by a 64-year-old male, with a juvenile passenger in the front passenger seat.
Both occupants of the Jeep were ejected from the vehicle, Idaho State Police said.
The driver of the Jeep was transported to an area hospital via air ambulance and his juvenile passenger was transported to an area hospital via ground ambulance. The driver of the Dodge pickup was not transported to the hospital.
Nobody involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt.
Traffic on U.S. 2 was slowed for approximately 4 hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved. Family of those involved in the crash have been notified.
This crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
