July 26, 1972 – REV. REDMAN ORDAINED
In a ceremony both ecumenical and international in flavor, the Rev. Nolan Redman was ordained a priest at St. Agnes Episcopal Church on Sunday. He is appointed vicar of both St. Agnes and St. Mary’s in Bonners Ferry. This was only the second time in St. Agnes’ 67-year history for a priest to be ordained here. Assisting in the ceremony were Rev. Patrick Harbour, St. Alban’s, Albany, Calif.; Rev. David Lundeen, St. John’s Cathedral, Spokane; Rev. M.J. O’Donovan, rector, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Sandpoint; and Rev. Pul Shindo Ohe, rector of Nagoya St. John’s Episcopal Church, Japan. Acolytes were Kevin Cogswell and Dan Lyon.

DARLENE MORGAN WEDS DENIS SPADE
The Assembly of God Church was the scene of the June 15 wedding of Miss Darlene Morgan and Denis Spade. Rev. Charles Wigton of the First Christian Church performed the ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morgan and Mr. and Mrs. Marco Spade, all of Sandpoint. After a short wedding trip, the couple is residing in Kootenai. He is employed by Georgia Pacific Corp. in Sandpoint.

McINTYRE-WATTS ENGAGEMENT TOLD
Mr. and Mrs. Gene McIntyre, Twin Falls, Idaho, announce the engagement of their daughter, Patsy Jean, to Kenneth Donald Watts. Miss Watts is a senior at the U of Idaho, majoring in special education. The groom-elect, a 1967 SHS graduate, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Watts, Sandpoint, received his degree in mechanical engineering from the U of I and is currently in the graduate program there. A wedding is planned for Aug. 12 in Twin Falls, after which the couple will travel to Hartford, Conn., where he has accepted an engineering position with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co.

July 26, 1922 – PIONEERS ORGANIZE
At an enthusiastic meeting in the Clarks Fork city hall, the Pend d’Oreille Pioneers’ association was formally launched to bring pioneers together and to preserve historical material while it still exists to be preserved. Compton I. White is president and Mrs. A.R. Derr, secretary. It was decided to hold a picnic and enrollment meeting Aug. 7 near the site of the historic “Kullyspell House,” on Sand bay on Lake Pend d'Oreille, approximately three miles east of Hope. Arrangements will be made with Northern Navigation co. for an excursion to the picnic site on that day.

SOCIAL AFFAIRS
A party of ten from Sandpoint spent the week-end at the Midas hotel on Garfield bay, with swimming and dancing the feature entertainments.
If the weather is favorable the Business Girls’ club will have a swimming party Wednesday evening at the beach. A picnic lunch will be served at the tourist park.
