Trail celebration being held today
This Saturday, the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness and Idaho Trails Association will be hosting a National Trails Day celebration in Sandpoint.
National Trails Day is a nationwide celebration of trails loved by community residents and serves as an opportunity to give back to local wild places and connect with other people who love being outside.
This year, area residents have the opportunity to give back and kick back on National Trails Day. You can join Idaho Trails Association for a trail restoration project on Mickinnick in the morning, and then enjoy a well-earned beer at Utara Brewing with the Friends of Scotchman Peaks from 5-8 p.m. Not a fan of trail work? Become a Scotchman Peak trail ambassador. Enjoy a free beer while learning about the program at the pre-party ambassador information session at 4 p.m. at Utara.
Party-goers can also look forward to crosscut saw demonstrations, perks for volunteers, games, and a raffle. Utara Brewing has generously offered to match $500 worth of donations made during the event.
