Sandpoint local Tye Barlow recorded his first-ever hole in one on Thursday, June 9 at The Idaho Club.

Barlow accomplished this feat on hole No. 7 from the blue tees, which were playing 203 yards, striping a five-wood hybrid that landed just left of the green on a slope, before rolling a couple of seconds and dropping into the hole.

Barlow was playing with Scott Albertson, Tanner Ketel and Eric Plummer, all of whom celebrated on the No. 7 tee box upon seeing the ball disappear.

Luckily for Barlow, the bar was closed, sparing him a hefty tab. It is a time honored tradition to buy drinks following an ace.

The odds of an amateur making a hole in one in their lifetime are 12,500/1, while the

odds of an amateur making an ace from 200 plus yards jumps up to 150,000/1. Which makes Barlow’s feat that much more impressive.
