New SHS wrestling coaches to host clinic

Sandpoint High School’s new co-head wrestling coaches Scot Davis and Jim Jackson, will be hosting a two-day wrestling clinic at Sandpoint Middle School Friday July 15-16.

This wrestling camp will not only be the first camp for wrestlers in the area, but it's the first to involve the new head coaches.

Jackson and Davis are both coming from winning traditions.

Davis ranks number one all-time in amateur wrestling history and coach Jackson ranks in fourth place.

Both days of the event will begin at 9 a.m. The first period of the day will wrap up at 10:30 a.m. before the athletes take a break until 11:00 a.m.

The second period of the day wraps up at 12:30 p.m.

This time schedule will repeat during both days of the camp.

The camp is designed for wrestlers of all ages who have a desire to learn the sport of wrestling.

The cost of the camp will be $25.

If you’re interested in attending the Sandpoint High School Wrestling camp at Sandpoint Middle School you’re encouraged to bring wrestling shoes, a sack lunch for the break periods, workout gear, including an extra shirt, water bottles to stay hydrated, towels and toiletries, for after practice and a notepad and pen to write down and take notes on technique and philosophy.
