BGH Foundation welcomes McLaughlin to board

| June 23, 2022 1:00 AM

Driven by his desire to give back to the Sandpoint community and to support the excellent work that is being done in the local medical community, Casey McLaughlin recently joined the Bonner General Health Foundation Board.

“Casey has been in integral part of the foundation’s advisory council over the past few years, and he seemed like a natural fit as we continue to expand our board,” said Molly Behrens, Bonner General Health Foundation community development coordinator.

McLaughlin is a former Sandpoint High School teacher and former principal at Sandpoint Middle School. A Sandpoint native, he currently works for the Lake Pend Oreille School District as the federal programs director and director of secondary teaching and learning.

With strong administrative and leadership skills, McLaughlin brings to the board his ability to gain the trust of the community through building relationships.

“One of the most important jobs of a school leader is to gain and maintain the trust and support of the local community,” said McLaughlin.

“Using this skill, I feel I can add value to the board in order to further accomplish the mission of changing and saving lives.”

McLaughlin is no stranger to volunteer work. He is active at Cedar Hills Church, which includes assisting local veterans to cut firewood, helping in the Healing Garden at Bonner General Health, volunteering at the Bonner County Foodbank as well as Habitat for Humanity and coaching youth sports.

“As a lifelong resident of Sandpoint, Casey has deep roots in the community and is well respected. He seemed like a perfect fit for our board and will be a wonderful liaison to the education sector for the BGH Foundation,” Lisa Moline, foundation member, said.
