The big hotel at Midas was used to house the party and the time was passed in dancing, playing box ball on the hotel alleys, fishing and swimming, with cards and “vest pocket roulette” also providing diversion.

FIRE CAUSES TALACHE DELAY
Fire of unknown origin Monday night destroyed the pump house and put machinery out of commission at the Talache mine. The mishap came just as the company was about to start its first night shift at the mine and resulted in a several days’ shutdown of operations, during which time the crews were employed on a general cleanup and repair work.
