SHOWER FOR MRS. FINNEY

Mrs. Gary Finney was honored with a pink and blue shower in the home of Mrs. Charles Finney, with Mrs. Vernon Bailey III as co-hostess. Mrs. Ruth Green made a two-tiered cake with a miniature baby on top. There were 30 invited guests and an uninvited one, a neighbors’ pet deer, Bambi, who walked into the house with a group of ladies, much to everyone’s amusement. Mrs. Finney said the deer is a frequent caller at their home for handouts of cookies and evidently saw no reason to be excluded this time.

March 15, 1922 – BURKE PLEASES HOME FOLKS

“Moonshine Madness” the film in which Sandpoint’s movie star, Martha Burke, plays the leading role, was presented for the first time on the Gem screen last night and tonight to packed houses. If any went to the show expecting to see Miss Burke prove a failure, they were greatly disappointed. She was certainly there with the goods, and as soon as consciousness wore off that it was our “Tillie” on the screen, she moved and acted like other stars, and the audience forgot “Tillie” and saw only Miss Burke. Her work was a revelation. Everyone is rejoiced at her success, and look forward to a meteoric career for the young lady.

TRADE NAME IS “BONNER BRAND”

Mrs. N.R. Wallentine, wife of Dr. Wallentine, has been awarded the ham given by the Bonner Meat company for the best trade name for the products of the new Bonner packing plant. The title given by Mrs. Wallentine, “Bonner Brand,” has appeared on the company’s products for some time but approval of the department of agriculture was required before the trade mark could be formally adopted.
