Rehearsals to start for chorale, orchestra
The Pend Oreille Chorale and Orchestra, now in its 29th year of community service, will be presenting their free classical music concerts on June 10 and June 12.
Rehearsals for the chorale will begin on Monday, March 21, beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. Rehersals will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist youth classroom; the same venue as last season.
Schedules and practice CDs made by Dr. Alan Ball will be available along with the music free of charge. Participants are asked to bring their black, three-ring binder. Composers include Glarum, Gretchaninoff, Schütz, Thompson, Reiner. Any singers who enjoy classical music are welcome.
Sharing the program will be the orchestra with compositions by Haydn, Reiner and Grieg. The first orchestra rehearsal will be on Sunday, April 3, from 2-4 p.m. at the Gardenia Center across the street from the post office. Schedules and music will be handed out, plus the orchestra will do a run-through of the pieces. The second rehearsal will be Sunday, April 24, at the same location and times. Experienced players are always invited to come and play.
