Warren Paul Weber

| May 18, 2022 1:00 AM

Warren Paul Weber passed away on May 10, 2022, after the gathering of his beloved wife, Linda and  their 10 children shortly before. They became a part of the Newport, Washington, community when he was hired by Ponderay Newsprint Company of Usk, Washington, during its construction stage in 1988. He retired as a senior project engineer 24 years later.

He was known for his wit, dependability, and willingness to help others. Warren became a licensed ham radio operator and volunteered primarily in the Pend Oreille and Bonner County areas, teaching amateur radio classes and providing licensing and becoming “net control” in preparation for emergency preparedness in the community.

Warren loved the Lord, Jesus Christ and served him faithfully as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including scout master, clerk and bishop of the Newport and Priest River wards.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Joan Weber. He is survived by his brother, Roger; his wife, Linda; and their 10 children, Warren Jr., James, Kimberly Lanegan, Shaina Nunnelly, Shavonne Wood, Courtney Heath, Rebekah Edvalson, Sharon Carpenter, Ian, and Nancy Gardner; their loving spouses and 46 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. His children all graduated from Newport High School and worked in local establishments until moving away.

Warren answered the call to serve in the Army during the Vietnam War. He gave honor to those who lived and died to protect home and family and always taught his family to respect the history and freedoms America stands for. He delighted in his friendships with his fellow vets and countrymen and was proud to stand at their sides.

The funeral will be May 27, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Priest River, Idaho, building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
