Find fresh produce, treats — and books — at the farmers' market.
Did you know that the library’s bookmobile stops at the Farmers' Market at Sandpoint most Saturdays? This week, we’ve got a little something different planned.
This Saturday, the library will be bringing our new STEM trailer to the farmers' market, pulled by yours truly. Swing by and explore this new service available to the community while learning right alongside me as I try to figure out how to make origami and paper airplanes.
You may have seen the STEM trailer parked in the library’s parking lot and wondered what it’s all about. Now that spring has sprung, I’ve finally had a chance to haul the trailer out to some local schools and allow kids to create, craft, and learn through making stuff without having to worry if they’re going to be graded.
I’ll have the trailer open to the public at the farmers' market so you can look inside at everything the trailer has to offer local youth, and I’ll also have a table set up for the craft I mentioned earlier. Bummed that you’re busy this Saturday and going to miss out? Don’t worry! I’ll bring the trailer to the farmers' market on the last Saturday of every month for the rest of the summer.
Worried about not being able to participate because you’ve got an overdue book? Don’t stress. This craft will be free for anyone to attend, even if you have late items or don’t have a library card. And if you bring it, I can even take that late item back to the library for you.
The trailer will be at the farmers' Market from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., so stop on by and judge my origami skills … or lack thereof!
