The Priest River baseball team’s season came to an end following a 2-0 loss to Kellogg in a loser-out game on May 12.

As the dust began to settle on the Spartans’ season, it was time to give out their end of the year awards.

The Priest River baseball team hosted its end-of-the year banquet and awards ceremony on Friday, May 27, in the cafeteria of Priest River High School.

Senior Everett Hannah, who was the heart and soul of the team in 2022, wrapped up his final banquet as a member of the Spartans baseball team by taking home four awards.

The ace earned offensive MVP honors, defensive MVP honors, and the big stick award. Hannah was also a part of the 3A Intermountain League team..

Other award winners include Charles Bennett, Tyson Troudt, and Kyle Patterson.

Bennett earned the award for “most improved player of the year” during the ceremony.

Troudt, who spent most of the season as the signal-caller for Priest River, earned the award for the best teammate.

Troudt was a steady presence behind the plate for the Spartans and was always a constant threat with a bat in his hands.

Patterson earned the coaches award to wrap up the ceremony.

Patterson played several positions when asked by coach Schultz and spent time on the mound.

He pitched his final game against Timberlake in the first game of the District 1 tournament.

He pitched two innings and finished his time on the mound, giving up six runs on five hits, striking out two.
